Richard A. Stein age 85 of Ormond Beach passed away on Tuesday November 27th 2012. A Funeral services will be held on Friday November 30th 2012 in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. Richard was born on December 10th 1926 in flushing New York to the late Kara (Skotnitsky) and Frank Stein. He was the youngest of six children: Lilith Frank Edward Violet Arthur and Richard. He lived in Flushing until entering the United States Army and serving in the Korean War. In 1946 he moved to Middletown New York and married Nancy Krumm on December 26th 1948. They had three children; Lawrence Diane and Elaine. A teacher by profession he taught at Truman Moon Elementary School then at Memorial junior High in Middletown New York. For over twenty years he taught physics at Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg New York before retiring and moving to Daytona Beach Florida where he taught physical science at Daytona Beach Community College. He received his teaching degree from Hoffstra University and a Masters in Physics from Syracuse University. He also attended Rensslear Polytech Institute and Columbia University. Richard married Suzanne Balena in 1990 moved to Ormond Beach. He is survived by his wife Suzanne three children and seven grandchildren .Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach.
