Richard L. "Dick" Shepherd age 82 of Daytona Beach passed away Tuesday March 31 2009. A funeral service in his honor will be held Saturday April 4 2009: 11:00 AM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home the family will receive guests at 10:00 AM.

Richard was born in Linton Indiana to Lee and Lillian Shepherd. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corp and had a 30 year career as a System Analyst for Holley Carburetor in Warren MI.

He was a proud member of Community United Methodist Church enjoyed playing golf and dedicated many years to the service of others. He volunteered for "Meals on Wheels" for 19 years The Homeless Center and "Family Renew".

He was a generous and compassionate person who brought a smile to all those around him.

He was the loving husband of Mary Shepherd and father of Lee Diane and William (Kim) Shepherd Grandfather of: Sarah Colin and Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Lee.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Volusia / Flagler Community United Methodist Church.
