Richard F Rubino 70 years old died suddenly at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach on May 20 2008 Dick was born in New Haven CT son of Larry and Viola Rubino. He most recently lived in Hammock FL for the past 16 years with his wife Dorothy Matressa Rubino. Dick and Dorothy have been married for 48 years. Mr Rubino is a Navy veteran having served his country from 1955-1959. He worked for 32 years for United Technologies Norden Systems in Norwalk CT until he retired in 1991. During that time he was active in politics and served terms both as a New Haven CT Alderman and Commissioner of Tweed New Haven Airport. After moving to Florida he again was extremely active in the community serving as former President of the Hammock Civic Association and an active member of the Church on the Rock in Bunnell FL.
Besides his wife Dotti he leaves his 2 sons; Richard L Rubino and wife Elissa of Delray Beach Florida and Christopher A Rubino of New Haven Connecticut He was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Lynn Rubino. He is the proud grandfather of Raef and Elle Rubino. He also leaves behind a surrogate daughter/family; Cherie Tom and their 4 children 2 sisters Patricia and Michelle many nieces and nephews and predeceased by his brother Frank.
A memorial service will be held at The Church on the Rock in Bunnell on
Saturday June 14 2008 at 2PM.
