Obituary

Richard R. Hall Jr. known to many of his friends and relatives as ""Bubba"" passed to join his deceased parents Richie Edith Stone and Richard Randolph Hall Sr. on April 30 2013. Richard was born on January 17 1926 in Richmond VA. and after high school graduation enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was a veteran of World War II and served as a tail gunner on a B 29 Superfortress with the 504th bomb group stationed on Tinian in the Marianas in the Pacific. Among his awards he was presented the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. Richard retired in 1974 with 30 years of Government service as an investigator with the Civil Service Commission. He moved his family to Florida especially to play golf. He was a member of the Glen Abby and Southridge Golf Clubs. Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years Kathleen Traylor Hall. They enjoyed bringing up three children who have remained close and have been a salvation to their parents over the years. Richard was preceded in in death by his oldest son Richard Michael Hall Sr. (May 7 2011) whom was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 34 years of service. Richard is survived by a son James Flemming Hall of Deland and a daughter Donna Hall Driskill of Daytona Beach six grandchildren eight great grandchildren a sister Mrs. Jean Hepp and a brother Sherwood Eugene Hall of Richmond VA. and several nieces and nephews all of VA. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Lohman Funeral Home Deland.
