Richard E. Oltmanns 84 passed away peacefully on Friday February 8 2013. Richard was born on April 19 1928 in Neola Iowa to Louise Rodenberg Oltmanns and Fred Oltmanns. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska and later at Patrick Air Force Base. After leaving the Air Force he made his home in Florida and married Pauline Valentik with whom he shared 46 loving years before her death in 2011. Richard retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 35 years starting in the service department and later as an appliance salesman. Richard was recently honored by the Basilica of Saint Paul with ""The Order Of Saint Paul"" for his many years of loyal and faithful service to the church. He enjoyed golf traveling and was very dedicated to loving and helping his family. He will be greatly missed by his son Edward (Patricia) Valentik grandson Mark (Delina) Valentik great grandchildren Matthew and Morgan Valentik and many caring and loving extended family neighbors and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint Paul 317 Mullally Street Daytona Beach Florida 32114. Visitation will be Wednesday February 13 2013 from 4:00P.M to 6:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Ave Daytona Beach Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday Feb. 14 2013 at the Basilica of St. Paul Church at 9:00 A.M 317 Mullally Street Daytona Beach. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park.
