Richard "Dick" Miley Sr. 70 of Port Orange died on May 23 2008.
Dick was born on December 1 1937 to the late Ashby and Leola
Miley Sr. in Lexington Virginia. Dick worked as an operating engineer with Simplex-Grinnell Fire Protection for 30 years until retiring. He was known for his love of fishing whether muddy water or clear water you could find him-pole in hand. Dick also enjoyed gardening keeping his lawn green and had a knack for giving his wife's plants away. After the death of his first wife Alice Faye Dick met and eventually married his favorite bartender Ms Millie. After honeymooning in Atlantic City they lived in Beltsville MD until Dick finally talked her into moving to Florida where they have been for the last 5 years. Though Ms Millie would tell you the first 3 weeks were rough their love and friendship continued to blossom. Dick leaves to cherish the memory of their lives together his loving wife of 25 years Mildred; son Richard Miley Jr and his wife Joyce of Maryland; grandchildren Michelle Mary and Melissa; great grandchildren Colin and Ella; sisters Joyce (Harry) Dudley of Arizona Jean (Pete) Large of Tennessee and Marie (Det) Hughes of Virginia; stepson Mark and many extended family members.
