RICHARD H. MCCALL age 72 passed away June 17th at the Port Orange Care Center Hospice Volusia/Flagler. Mr. McCall was born in Indianapolis Indiana and had lived in the Daytona Beach area for over twenty years.
A member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the American Legion he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #3660 in Indianapolis.
After attending Sacred Heart High School in Indianapolis he enlisted in the Marine Corps serving from 1954-1957. He was active in many youth programs in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis coaching various sports supervising the C.Y.O. program at Sacred Heart and serving as member and president of the Catholic School Board for many years. He was the recipient of the Msgr. Busald Award and the St. John Bosco medal for youth service.
Mr. McCall worked over 35 years in the auto glass business retiring in 1999. Preceded in death by his parents Don and Irene Flaspohler McCall Combs he is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Margaret Reddick McCall; eight children: Sherry Moore Lenoir NC; Pamela Martin Martinsville IN; Teresa Horsley Indianapolis IN; Michael McCall Bradenton FL; David McCall Indianapolis IN; Timothy McCall Indianapolis IN; Suzanne Sopotnick Edgewater FL; and Angela Pettit Port Orange FL; 18 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Port Orange Hospice Care Center at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with funeral services pending at Lauck Funeral Home in Indianapolis.
