Richard Leatherman, 77, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and craftsman, Richard was known for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and quiet strength. He was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Born on May 21, 1947, Richard proudly served in the United States Navy for 13 years. After his time in the military, he found his true calling in carpentry. With skillful hands and an eye for detail, he built custom wood pieces that brought beauty and function into countless homes.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bea Leatherman; his daughter, Jennifer Reiter, and her husband, Kevin; and his grandsons, Austin and Aiden, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by Michelle Spence, whom he loved like a daughter; his sister, Mary Kay Hammond, and her husband, Bill; and his nephews, Billy and Wade.
His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the memories he helped create, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. Richard will be remembered as a gentle, giving soul who always made time for others. Whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or his quiet, steady presence, he made the world brighter for those lucky enough to know him.
