IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Allen
Klein
May 25, 1947 – December 22, 2023
Richard Allen Klein, of Deltona, Florida completed his final lap on December 22nd at the age of 76. Rich had been hospitalized fighting a long battle against cancer and other health related issues over the last few years. While the battle was difficult, he was fortunately able to return home before Christmas and passed peacefully in the arms of his loving wife.
He was the beloved husband of Joan, his wife of 34 years, son of Jean Klein of Durham, New Hampshire; cherished brother of Carol Klein and Bill Klein (Liz); and a loving father to Donna Klein Williamson (Scot), Kevin Erlewein (Amy), and Catina Mack (Terry). Rich delighted in the presence of his seven grandchildren: Andrew, Zachary, Megan, Hunter, Payton, Maddi and Addison, and reveled in the joy brought by his three great-grandchildren.
Rich was preceded death by his father, Leonard Klein; and his beloved brother, Jeffrey Klein.
Renowned for his love of cars, Rich established a thriving business in this realm, epitomizing his lifelong passion for automobiles–which included working for prestigious companies such Rolls Royce. Despite his mastery as a mechanic, he had a unique knack for
keeping his hands pristine–a testament to his skill and precision.
The unwavering dedication that he had to his craft was matched only by his commitment to his family, who will forever deeply cherish his memory. Rich was the host of a lifetime, always making sure that every guest who walked through his front door had a warm heart and full belly. He would often talk of his world famous recipes, some of his most special being his
key lime pie and open faced sandwiches.
Rich was also a man who thoroughly enjoyed traveling. He was never one to take a plane; his BMW was all he needed. Driving frequently to the New England area to visit his northern relatives and friends, making sure to always stop in Kittery, Maine for a new pair of loafers. Then stop into his favorite pizza restaurant, DeLorenzo's in Robbinsville, NJ for a
tomato pie.
It was an honor to know Rich. Those around him knew how thoughtful, strong, caring and absolutely one of a kind he was. All the lessons he taught and advice he shared will be deeply missed. The legacy he left on everyone's hearts will be felt forever.
Rich's celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on January 27, 2024 at Our Lake of the Lakes Catholic Church.
Burial services will be held in the spring in Salem, NY at a later date.
