Richard Irven Holmes, 77, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025.  He was born on May 22, 1948 in Ocala, Florida and served honorably in the United States Army from April of 1969 to March of 1971.  As a Florida native he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying real Florida.  He enjoyed deer hunting as well as hog and turkey hunting.  Living in Ormond Beach, where stockcar racing was started, he was a NASCAR fan, always enjoying a Ford in victory lane.  Richard enjoyed watching girl's softball and old movies – especially westerns.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jeannine E. Holmes; son, Kevin Archambault (wife, Ellen Smith); daughter, Taree Russo (wife, Karen Russo); daughter, Nikki Taylor; daughter, Stacy Harrold (husband, Rick Harrold); eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and other extended family and friends.

Services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emory L. Bennett State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach.
