Richard Webster Hinton (74), of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on May 20th, 2023.

Richard, fondly known as Rick, was born to Richard and Audrey Hinton of New Albany, Indiana. After graduating from his beloved Southwest Miami High School, Rick enlisted in the Army and served his country faithfully in Vietnam. Upon his return from the war, he began his decades-long career with Florida Power & Light.

Rick always wanted to be a DJ, and after his retirement from FPL, he was able to make that dream a reality as on-air personality, "DJ Rick," at SURF 97.3. He loved spinning tunes at the Flagler Pier and was a walking encyclopedia of music trivia. Rick also enjoyed following NASCAR, playing video games, using new technology, staying connected to his Southwest High friends, and spending time with his family.

Rick is survived by his youngest daughter, Christine, and his grandson, Richard Garrett. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Audrey, his eldest daughter, Yvette, and his significant other, Virginia Strickland.

A graveside inurnment will be held on June 26th at 11AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Gary Sinise Foundation or Wounded Warriors Family Support in memory of Rick Hinton.
