Richard Alan Hernandez, 46 of Ormond Beach, passed away May 25, 2013. A visitation in his honor will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond from 5-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 31, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 2pm, with burial following at Volusia Memorial Park.

Richard was born in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Merrillville High School in Indiana, attended Indiana University, and then served in the U.S. Navy. He married Doreen Coria in 1994. They moved to Ormond to be with family. Richard worked for the City of Ormond Beach in the Storm Water Department. Richard will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. He was a NASCAR and Chicago Bears fan.

Richard will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 19 years Doreen; by his children Nolan Nicolas and Neena; by his parents William and Rita Hernandez of Ormond Beach; by his siblings Keith Hernandez (wife Kelley) of Colorado and Denice Hernandez of Indiana; by his grandparents Ralph Hernandez and Ada Halfman of Indiana; by his mother-in-law Alice Coria of Indiana; by his brother-in-law Ron Touketto and family of Wisconsin to whom Richard was especially close and by his beloved lab Maggie who was by his side until the end. He will also be mourned by many brother and sister-in-laws nieces nephews and cousins. Richard was predeceased by his grandfather Leo Halfman.
