A Funeral Mass for Richard M. ?Dick? Donahue 79 who passed away Tuesday evening August 8 2006 at The Hospice Care Center Port Orange FL will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Ormond Beach FL with Rev. Philip Egitto Pastor as Celebrant. Visitation will be held Friday August 11th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Mr. Donahue was born in Norfolk VA the son of Timothy Michael and Louise Westman Donahue. Mr. Donahue served in the US Navy during WW II and after receiving his honorable discharge from the military continued his education in electrical engineering earning a BSSE degree from VPI a MSEE from the University of Virginia and a MEA from George Washington University. Mr. Donahue had a very interesting and challenging career. He began with accepting employment with the Ford Motor Company. He then accepted employment with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a sonar engineer. Later he joined forces with TRW as a section head designing submarine weapons systems. He finished his career with the CIA analyzing weapons systems. After retiring from the CIA he moved from Vienna Virginia to Ormond Beach Florida. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and served as an usher there. He was a member of NARF Chapter 2247 Ormond Beach. He enjoyed swimming and all sports but bowling was his favorite. He bowled on two leagues in Ormond Beach and served as president of one league for four years. He also participated in several senior tournaments. He was preceded in death by one sister Mary Louise Troutman and first wife Jacqueline McCulloch Donahue. Survivors are wife Marie Cox Donahue son Patrick M. Donahue Vienna VA son Michael R. Donahue and wife Pam and grandsons Steve and Greg of La Plata MD one daughter Anna Marie Lambert of Ormond Beach FL one brother James Timothy Donahue and wife Cleo of Cobs Creek VA one sister Miriam Cox and husband Ed of Cape Coral FL and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers his request was contributions to be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church School Tuition Fund or Halifax Humane Society or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
