Richard John Creadon 83 of Port Orange entered into eternal life at 4:50 p.m. with his loving family by his bed side at Halifax Hospital in Port Orange.
A funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 5th at the Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. Family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Epiphany Catholic Church in Richards honor.
Richard was born February 7 1926 in Lakewood Ohio the son of William F. and Dora (Cone) Creadon. Richard served as an Air Force Cadet in the United States Army Air Corp from 1944 to 1945. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jane Shernock on October 9 1948. Richard retired from Cardinal Industries Sanford FL where he was employed as a Construction Superintendent - Project Planner. He was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church and the Catholic War Veterans was on the town council of Ponce Inlet from 1981 - 1982 and was the Captain Training Officer of the Ponce Inlet Fire Dept. from 1980 - 1982. Richard was an avid sportsman. He loved playing a good game of golf. He was also a great hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered for his gardening techniques and was very well known for his bird of paradise and his orange and tangerine trees.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years Dorothy Jane Creadon; sons: Richard D. Creadon of Wilmont SD and Dennis J. Creadon of Atlanta GA; daughter: Deborah M. (Barry) Herling of Miramar FL; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents one daughter: Geraldine E. (James) Bockey; four brothers and three sisters.
