Richard L. Christensen passed away at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland Florida, on August 17, 2015 at the age of 72. He was born in Mankato, Minnesota on January 23, 1943 to Russell and Agnes Christensen. Richard was a graduate of Mankato University in Minnesota, and he received a Master's Degree from The University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. He was an educator in Racine, Wisconsin until 1979, and then worked as an insurance agent until his retirement; then, in 1990 he made the move from Wisconsin to Florida where he was able to enjoy his golfing, boating, and fishing on a year round basis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Linda, in 2006. Richard is survived by his children Peter (Jennifer) Christensen of Oviedo, FL, Joshua Christensen of Waterford WI, Patrick Christensen of Pleasant Prairie, WI, his step-daughter Paula Belanger and stepson Kevin Belanger both of Daytona Beach, FL, and grandchildren Morgan, Taylor, Trent, Sam, Alexa, Nick, and Dylan Christensen. He is also survived by his brothers Jim, Steve (Susan), Mark, and Robert (Debbie) Christensen and his sister Ann (Doug) Andersen. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with Rev. Brian Lucas officiating. Interment will follow later at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach FL.
