Richard E Caton , born July 7th 1938 in Shreveport La. his Father DS Caton and Mother, Lora Mae Caton eventually moved to Port Orange FL  where He met his wife of 60 years, Patricia Caton.  His Uncle Frank and Father started Caton Insurance agency in 1948, in Port Orange.  In 1959, Frank retired and D.S. passed away, leaving the future of the business to his son Richard, who continued the growth and expanded to a new building at our current Nova Road location in 1980. Richards's son Rex Caton and John Hosey bought the business in the 90's and Richard entered a well deserved retirement. Richard was very much involved in the community, serving as The South Daytona -Port Orange Chamber President and was the head of the Planning Board for the community as well, in the 60's and 70's. He is survived by his wife Pat , his son Rex Caton, Daughter in law, Barbara.  Daughter Lora Caton  and his Grandchildren Allie, Dallas and Donovan Caton.  Memorial Service is Feb 1st at 2pm at United Methodist Church 305 Dunlawton Ave.  Port Orange.
