Obituary

Richard "Rick" J. Cabral, of Ormond Beach, FL (formerly of Somerset, MA) passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 78.  He was born in Fall River, MA to the late Pamela (D'Amico) and Jesse Cabral. Dedicated to a life of service to his community and his country, Rick was a Marine Corps veteran and a City of Fall River police officer for more than twenty-five years.

An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, Rick was a member of the High Hill Fox and Coon Club as well as Bristol County Ducks Unlimited. He shared his passion for the outdoors with his beloved dog, Max, an AKC Certified Junior Hunter, who was his constant companion on many adventures.  Rick enjoyed his daily swims, listening to music by his favorite artists, playing his lottery numbers, and staying up to date with current events.

Rick is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-five years, Betsy Smith-Cabral, three daughters, Bethany Norton (William), Ellen Juchartz (William), and Katherine Cabral McPherson (Henderson). He was the proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Emily and Will. He is also survived by his brother, Curtis Cabral and wife, Barbara, several nieces and nephews along with many cherished friends.

Private services will be held later date. In remembrance of Rick, please consider donating to his favorite charity: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choice.
