Obituary

William "Bill" Richard Moremen 01/09/1945 -- 08/27/2013

In loving remembrance of a devoted; husband father grandfather great-grandfather brother uncle and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl of 48 years three children; Lara Dreistadt son in-law John grandson Curt with great-grandson Noah granddaughter Alicia son Michael daughter in-law Angelica (whom he had the opportunity to meet for the first time last year) grandson Mitchell;Daughter Mindy McClure son in-law Jason grandchildren Autumn Tristan Austin and Hannah. His siblings include; Wathena Hogan Sam Moremen (Bea) George Moremen (Susan) and Jeff Moremen (Claudia) and his best friend Sam Lee (Carolyn) whom he thought of as his brother; including all the cousins nieces nephews and simply too many people to name that he loved and that loved him.

Bill graduated from Mainland High School class of 1963. He attended and played football for FSU as a running back for 3 years where he still shares the record for the longest kickoff return made with teammate T.K. Wetherell in the game against Kentucky in October 1965. Bill was drafted by the New York Giants after FSU and made it to the final cut. He then started his career as an educator as the athletic director and head football coach for Lake Butler High School then moved to NSB High School as the athletic director and head football coach and then became the cross-country coach for Pine Ridge High School. He retired from the school system in 2008 after 38 years of teaching.

Everyone who had the blessing of knowing Bill will tell you that he will be greatly missed. He would make it a point to go out of his way to help anyone who would ask and many who did not ask.

If we were to search for words to describe him they would be; stern loving honest dedicated empathetic hardworking and so much more. His legacy will live on in his children grandchildren and great-grandchild. Never will he be forgotten and will live on in our hearts forever.

He is now in Heaven with his father & mother Carter & Ruby Moremen brother in-law Herschel Hogan and many other family members who have passed before him. No longer will he suffer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday August 31 2013 at Stetson Baptist Church 1025 W. Minnesota Avenue DeLand FL 32720. AS HE PROMISED HE WILL DO
JOHN 14:1-4
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my father's house are many rooms. If it were not so would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and will take you to myself that were I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.
