Richard C. Beckman, Jr.
March 24, 1949 - August 17, 2017

Richard C. Beckman, Jr., also known as Dick or Dickie to those who loved him, passed away at home on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Pat and Richard Beckman, Sr., but, lived most of his life in Daytona Beach. He attended Mainland High School, then served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. During his life he became a certified sea captain and also a skilled machinist. He ran B & B Aluminum Stock in South Daytona for 21 years. He is survived by his life partner, Bonnie Barta, his very beloved son Richard Beckman, III and wife Shannon of Port Orange, his granddaughters Emily, Hailey, and Kiera, his sister Carol Saba, who cared for him over the years, her husband Joe and their daughter and sons Lisa(Raul), Jay(Liany), Mike(Maria), and Jeff who had a very special place in Richards heart. Richard is also survived by his sisters Suzy Beckman and Nancy Beckman,and his nieces Vanessa and Savannah. Also left behind areRichards very loved friends, Robert Rockett, John David Potter, Wanda and Bill Hinson, Vince Favale, Gayle Clark, Pete Balestrieri, Carlos Jimenez, Doug Ritter, John Hinton and many others who shared the good life with him. A special thank you to Bill Richard, who helped keep things going in every way. And not to be forgotten, Richards constant cannine companion, Miley, who always brings a smile to all. Richard had great faith, great love, and showed the world how by great example. Many thanks to the Veterans Administration, who over the years continued their return service to Richard.
