Rhonda was born on January 16, 1965 in Brooklyn (Canarsie), New York to Martin and Harriet Levitt. She was also the daughter-in-law to Dr. Jack and Ilene Rotstein and Jack's second wife,  Lyuda. She supported herself through college earning a BA in English. Rhonda went on to a successful career as a high school teacher helping adolescents discover a passion for learning. Her true passion, however, was as a mother of her two children, Hayley and Michael, who were the focus of her life.

Rhonda was a previous cancer survivor and passed her determination and strength along to other cancer patients as a dedicated, tireless volunteer of the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by Daniel Rotstein, her husband of almost 32 years, and her loving children, Hayley and Michael, brother David, as well as cousins Marcia Savage, Howard Reback (Sharon), Marc and Jean Levinn, Sandy Jemal, and, of course, Uncle Murry and Aunt Ellen of New York.

Rhonda is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law: Jonathan, Michael (Vienna), Debi (Marc), David (Peg), Debbie C and Debbie R. As well, she is survived by many nieces and nephews: Jann, Alexis (Justin), Jordan, Tyler, Tarra (Austin), Eric, Nathan, Ruby, Quincy, Deenah, Leah, Rachel, Sloane and Marlee.

The family also extends their gratitude to University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center nurses and staff as well as Dr. Daniel Perez and Dr. Alejandra Perez.  We also would like to thank Rhonda's friends who have been so supportive of Rhonda during her battle especially Hester Longstreet, Stacy Overby, Shari Wallack, Caryn Rosenthal, Marcy Kravit, Susan Jaison, and Elouise Demestichas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rhonda's memory to University of Miami, Sylvester Cancer Center at Development Department, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, P.O. Box 016960 (M-867), Miami, FL 33101.  If you have any questions, you can reach a development team member at 305-243-9088 or SylvesterDevelopment@miami.edu .

Once again, due to the current COVID-19 situation, a virtual Shiva will be conducted at 7:00pm, on April 21, 2021 via ZOOM.
