Raymond "Rocky" Siracusa

November 7, 1945 ~ August 15, 2022

Rocky was born in the Bronx, New York to Salvatore Siracusa and Dorothy Bowerman. He had many siblings and had a difficult and troubled upbringing. That only made him work harder to be a great man. On November 15, 1963 at the age of 17 he joined the United States Air Force. He worked and lived all over the world, including spending time in Vietnam and Korea during the Vietnam War. On May 11, 1989 he retired as a Master Sergeant. That same year he moved to Volusia County for his love of racing and NASCAR. Those who knew him knew of his dedication and love for his community, especially helping wayward youth. Because of this, he received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology focusing on children and founded Rocky's Roost which helped many families over the years. He was a God fearing man and loved his church. He was also a member of many clubs and organizations. They include The Veterans of Foreign Affairs Post 3282 (1989-Present), American Legion (2001-Present),  Knights of Columbus Council 8086 with Our Lady of Hope and Epiphany Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister, Scribe and Past Grand Knight (2004 - Present),  Fraternal Order of Eagles and The Elks Lodge (2013 – Present), Deland Lions Club (2021 – Present), Port Orange Lions Club where he was President Elect, President and Past President (2007 – 2022) and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1048 Lifetime Member) just to mention a few.

He is survived by his son, Ray Jr, daughters Sherri (Tim), Cari (Kyle) and his two grandchildren, his "Monkey" Samantha (Jessee) and Joshua "Gung-ho".

When you think of Rocky you think of his infamous pony tail. He grew out his hair over a dozens times and donated to Locks of Love for the children with cancer.

A Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30am on Thursday, August 25 ^, 2022 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32127. Interment will be private.

Memorial Donations may be made in his Rocky's memory to The Reflections Memory Care of Port Orange (Also known as The Retreat at Port Orange), 1321 Herbert Street, Port Orange, FL 32129.
