A Funeral Service for Raymond J. Held 91 of Ormond Beach FL who passed away on Wednesday April 1 2009 will be held at 1:00pm Saturday April 4 2009 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL with burial to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12noon to 1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Born on October 12 1917 in Carleton MI to George & Mary Held Raymond was still living on the farm he was born on when he married Claribelle Held in St. John's Lutheran Church on March 28 1942. They lived in Carleton where he worked at Ford Motor Company for 19 years. In 1956 they moved to Daytona Beach and owned and operated the Chateau Motel for 13 years. He then worked at G.E. on the Apollo program as an electronic technician before retiring in 1983. He had degrees in electronics from DeForest Training School and Mary Karl Vocational School. His hobbies were working in his yard golfing bowling and cooking. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holly Hill since moving here in 1956. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years Claribelle; his daughter Denise both of Ormond Beach and two sisters Grace Tippett of Michigan and Alma Horvath of Ormond Beach.
