"Ray" Reinaldo Ramon Salas, 62, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1962 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He served honorably in the United States Navy and had rewarding careers as a jet mechanic, an emergency medical technician, and even assisting air medical/life-flights.  Regarding his work, Ray was always proudest of his time in the Navy.  Ray was independent, free thinking, strong willed (not hard-headed), determined, witty, and wise. Ray was a big, warm hug. He enjoyed time on the water fishing and appreciated solitude. He had many pets he loved over the years, but Beau, Jack, and Buttons have been his faithful companions. Ray's fun, loving, and paternal energy will be missed by many.

Ray is survived by his partner, Nancy Berton; son, Matthew D. Salas (wife, Evelyn Salas); son, Michael J. Salas (partner, Kristy Craft); son, Brandon T. Salas; mother, Alexia Leonor Tamayo; aunt, Lourdes Dotson; sister, Marjorie Tamayo; nephew, Christopher Jimenez (wife, Lissette Jimenez); great-nephew, Julian Jimenez; cousin, Jay Dotson (wife, Claudia Dotson and their children, Abigail and John); grandchildren, Lexi, Nicolas, Eli, Julia, Jason, and Ayden; step-son, Paul Berton; step-son, Alex Berton; step-son, Daniel Berton; and other extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Michele Tamayo; father, Reinaldo Salas; and beloved grandparents, Hector and Julia Suarez.

Services and honors will be held privately at a later date.
