A Memorial Service for Randolph "Randy" F. Reck Husband-Father-Grandfather-Brother-Friend will be held at 2:00pm Friday November 28 2008 at Grace Beachside Lutheran Church 338 Ocean Shore Blvd. Ormond Beach FL. Randy was born on March 2 1945 in Flushing NY to Fred & Helen Reck. He grew up in Mineola NY where he attended Northside Elementary and the Wheatley School. It was in 1966 he married his long time friend Carol (Stein) Reck. They soon had two children James and Joseph Reck. In 1976 Randy Carol and sons moved to Sudbury Vermont. There Randy enjoyed watching his sons grow up and becoming members of I.B. E.W. Local #300 Burlington Vermont. James Reck met and married his high school sweetheart. James who's now ex-wife Susan Sanderson gave birth to a son Trever James Reck now 10 years old. Joseph Reck married Gara (Jamieson) Reck who gave birth to a son Matthew Joseph Reck now 4 years old. Both sons and their families live in Vermont. In 2003 Randy and Carol moved to Ormond By The Sea. They are members of Grace Beachside Lutheran Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years Carol; his sons: James & Joseph Reck; two grandchildren: Trevor and Matty; his sister Carol (Reck) Schneider & her husband Uwe of both Vermont and Flagler Beach; a cousin Edward Lohmann of Clearwater FL; many brother & sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews most from all parts of Long Island NY. A "Special Goodbye" to Mom his mother-in-law Linda; to the Wheatley Girls who were with him to the end. All the many lifetime friends of Sudbury Vermont and of course all the friends in and around Mineola NY including his beloved I.B.E.W. Local #25 which he was a member for 40 years. Last but not least our friends and neighbors here in Ormond especially Nancy and Gerry who helped us in so many ways. Multiple System Atrophy is a very unforgiving condition. Randy left this world with his sense of humor grace and his dignity. He will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VITAS Hospice Care 533 N.
