Obituary

Mr. Ralph Haygood Coker Jr., born August 24th, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida was ushered into the glorious presence of our Living God on February 7th, 2025.  Ralph was the son of Bernice and Ralph Coker Sr. His son, Ralph H. Coker III, preceded him in death.

While Ralph knew so many good things of life, the greatest thing about Ralph was his personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be missed tremendously, but all who knew him are confident that his lasting desire would be for all needing salvation to receive Jesus into their hearts. And if you have, you will see him again on the day of the wedding feast with our Heavenly Father.

Ralph leaves an earthly legacy blessed with a loving family: His Wife of 21 years, Caryl; sister, Marie Richie, Patricia Springmeyer, Janet Cameron (and husband, John – alias John Boy); granddaughters, Brittany, Christie, Summer; extended family and so many dear friends the list would be a mile long. A special thank you to Yerby Baker and Gary Schultz, Ralph's go to friends for always being there for him.

Ralph's kindness and loving care for his family will never be forgotten. He was a tradesman all his life owning Coker Plumbing in Miami and then working with the Miami/Dade County Fire Department. He was a Freemasonry past President of Kiwanis, as well as honored as Kiwanian of the year, served as Exalted Ruler with the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, and member of the American Legion. His passion to help others was visible in everything he did.

He and Caryl enjoyed hosting friends and family for barbecues and parties. Thanksgiving was a special time; everyone was invited to dinner, so no one would be alone or hungry.

He was exceptionally skilled in boating and fishing. He won fishing tournaments in Miami and every day was a great day as long as he was on the water. He and Caryl were lifelong adventurers always discovering their love for each other while fishing from Fowey Light off Miami to Australia. They enjoyed the excitement of deep-sea fishing, working together to catch Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) and 'landing' Black Marlin.

After 74 years in Miami, He and Caryl moved to North Carolina for several years. They came back to Florida and found their home in Palm Coast and a Church family at Parkview Church.

A Celebration of Life for Ralph will be held at a later date (TBA) in Denver, North Carolina and in Miami, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Parkview Church in Palm Coast, Florida to support an outreach initiative guiding people to life change in Christ. May Ralph's memory of kindness and generosity live on through your donation that advances hope in children, adults, and local jail ministries in the community. Go to https://parkviewlife.com - Click on "GIVE", enter an amount, and in the tithes/offering drop down - select "OTHER".
