Ralph G. Cascardo 95 passed away Wednesday February 9 2011 at Majestic Oak Nursing Home Orange City FL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 15th at Lohman Funeral Home; 722 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Ralph was born October 28 1915 in Brooklyn New York to Joseph and Jennie Cascardo. He and his wife Jean relocated to Palm Coast FL in 1975 from New York then to Volusia County in 1997. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Korona FL; He served with the US Postal service for 35 years retiring as the Postmaster in Hicksville NY. He served in the US Army during WWII and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army Reserve. Ralph was a founding member of the Italian American Club in Palm Coast FL a Lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the National Association of Federal Workers. He enjoyed woodworking and time with his family. He was the loving husband of 67 years to Jean Cascardo Orange City son Bob Cascardo Walnut Creek CA daughter Lynne (Larry) Slaven Dayton OH brother Adolph Cascardo Sacramento CA sister Louise Scuderi Long Island NY three grandchildren Travis Dixon Dan Dixon and Beth Fullenkamp two step-grandchildren Michael Slaven and Rebecca Sutton as well as eight great- grandchildren.
