Rachel Boswell Pownall 74 of Ormond Beach FL peacefully passed away August 12 2012. A Celebration of Life honoring Rachel will be held Saturday August 18 2012 at 4:30pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel.

Rachel was born and raised in Dry Fork Virginia. She later started her family in Virginia. She moved to the Daytona area in 1979. Rachel concentrated her life on taking care of people. She celebrated 50 years of nursing as an LPN for nursing homes.

Rachel's favorite pastime was reading. She enjoyed her retirement by taking time for simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her cat Shadow and watching the birds in the birdbath outside her window. Her passion was her family. Rachel adored her grandchildren.

Rachel will be sadly missed by her daughter Lucy Salmans of Holly Hill FL and by her son Robert Pownall Jr. of Debary FL (fiance Margaret Raven); and by her grandchildren: Robyn Brittanie Kyle Corey Matthew and Jessi. Rachel will be mourned by her brother Archie C. Boswell Jr (wife Betty Ann) of Danville VA and by her sister Ruth Grogan of Durham NC. Rachel was predeceased by her brother Martin Boswell.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rachel's name to The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or to The Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler at www.hovf.org. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
