R. Richard Solana 67 passed away Saturday April 14 2012. Richard was a native of Port Orange being a member of one of the oldest families to settle in Florida. He graduated from Mainland High School.
Richard worked for the Colonial Colony Mobile Home Parks for the local Burger King Franchise and for Don Bell Signs.
Richard will be remembered as a man of his word honest and charitable with his friends. He proudly served his country in the Army servicing helicopters in Vietnam. Richard enjoyed hunting with his father in Farmton. He was a passionate rider of Harleys and was a member of the Lonesome Losers Motorcycle Club.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Shanda Solana of Deltona; son Matthew Solana (Rebecca) of Winter Park; sister Anita Holm (George) of Port Orange; and 2 nieces. A Celebration of Richard's life will be held at Cardwell Funeral Home. Visitation for friends will be Wednesday April 18 from 6-8pm and Memorial Service will be Thursday April 19 at 1:00. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Cardwell Funeral Home.
