Priscilla “Perkie” Jean Henderson

Priscilla “Perkie” Jean Henderson, 80, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 30th, 1946, in Kittery, Maine. Perkie was the oldest daughter of Rollin and Rita Goldsberry. Perkie was a Navy brat and grew up in many east coast cities. She spent most of her formative years in Key West, Florida before relocating to the Volusia County area in 1965 where she started a family.

Perkie spent her professional career working in the banking industry ultimately retiring in 2011 as an executive. During her professional career, she took many active roles in community involvement, volunteering and even served on many area boards. She was known for her kindness, strength, compassion, generosity, faith, and devotion to family.

Above all, Perkie loved her family fiercely. She found great joy in her children, grandchildren, holiday traditions, tropical cruises with her girlfriends and her faith. Those who knew her will especially remember her unconditional love, loyalty and compassion for those in need.

Perkie is survived by her son’s Joseph Mitchell (Penny Wade), Mitchell Henderson (Lissette Deschamps), Brian Henderson (Danielle Henderson) and; grandchildren Courtney Mew (Chase Mew), Luke Henderson, Trevor Mitchell, Alexander Henderson, Nathan Henderson and siblings Rollin Goldsberry (Jr), James Goldsberry and Lisa Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rollin and Rita Goldsberry.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 31st, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope, 4675 South Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, Florida with a reception immediately following at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Halifax Hospice in Perkie’s memory.

Perkie’s strength, love, faith and devotion to family will remain with those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
