Phyllis Jean Schlossberg 75 died June 29 2008 at home in Daytona Beach. Phyllis was born in Shelbyville Illinois. She attended Eastern Illinois State University and moved to the Daytona Beach area after her graduation. She was a teacher and media specialist in the Volusia County School system including Ortona Middle School R.J. Longstreet Elementary School and Sugar Mill Elementary School until her retirement. Phyllis is survived by her four children Stephanie Hart of Crescent City; Suzanne Tamberrino and husband Nick of Orlando; Steven Schlossberg and wife Kim of Daytona Beach; and Scott Schlossberg and wife Shelley of Naples. She also was a very proud grandmother of five grandchildren Alexandra Tamberrino Sierra Schlossberg Spencer Schlossberg Sydney Schlossberg and Nikki Elledge. Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother who always had room in her heart and home for others. She was a devoted teacher who had a positive influence in the lives of many children in the Daytona Beach area. In addition to her teaching accomplishments Phyllis was also an associate producer for ""Daytona Beach Memories a film documenting the history of Daytona Beach. She also had a special love for animals and shared her life with many of them over the years.
There will be a celebration of life for Phyllis at the home of the family in Daytona Beach on Tuesday July 8 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Contact Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 386-267-1100 for details. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in Phyllis' memory to the Arthritis Foundation or Halifax Humane Society.
