HUGHES, Phyllis

Phyllis Hughes, 78, of Daytona Beach, passed away on Thursday March 16, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach, Florida.
A Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday March 17, 2017 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9am on Saturday March 18, 2017 at the Basilica of St. Paul's Catholic Church, 317 Mullally Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, with Reverend Tim Daly officiating.
Phyllis Hughes (nee Grohowski) was born on August 23, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Edward and Anne Grohowski. She attended the University of Michigan. She and her late husband moved to this area in 1985 and were owner and operator of "Caring Cleaners" in Daytona Beach for over 30 years. Phyllis was a member of The Basilica of St. Paul's Catholic Church and loved her church family.

Survivors include her four children, Jay (Dawn) Hughes of Dexter, Michigan, David (Kelly) Hughes of Jackson, Michigan, Duane (Joyce) Hughes of Saline, Michigan and Staci (Ken) Gassman of Lake Orion, Michigan; a loving sister, Carolyn Fodor of Farmington Hills, MI and eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Thomas Henry Hughes, on February 14, 2017.

Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to The Basilica of St. Paul's Catholic Church, 317 Mullally Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
