Phyllis M. Gunning 82 of Ormond Beach passed away on August 17 2012 with family by her side. Phyllis was born in Seven Valleys PA on September 21 1929. She is survived by a son Robert R. Gunning of Colorado; a daughter in law Julie Gunning; two grandchildren Samuel Gunning and Carolyn Gunning of Colorado; a sister Nancy Kessler of Pennsylvania; and a brother Kenneth Brenneman of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Gunning; mother Florence Brenneman; and father Ray Brenneman.
Phyllis was a devoted wife mother friend and community volunteer. She had a wonderful sense of humor loved to laugh and touched innumerable lives. Phyllis served as a volunteer at the Daytona Beach Airport and an as an Auxilian with Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. Prior to retiring to Florida with her husband Bob in 1990 she resided in Liverpool NY where she was active in the community and worked at the Clay Town Hall. Phyllis grew up in the York Pennsylvania area.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday September 2 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Tomoka United Methodist Church Ormond Beach Florida. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to the Tomoka United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach or the American Cancer Society.
