Obituary

The Greatest Generation lost another member on Monday, October 13, 2014 with the passing of Phillip Jack Remington, 88, of Ormond Beach, FL.

Jack was born at home in Morton, PA to Isabel and Earl Remington on December 22, 1925. He graduated from Ridley Township HS and the Goldey Beacom School of Business. He was a talented athlete during his school years and at one time played semi-professional football for the Philadelphia Athletics.

He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 after begging his parents to sign the entry form. He served in the South Pacific on PT Boat 250 where he was a gunner's mate second class during World War II. He returned from action and met the love of his life, Betty Lou Brewer, whom he married and loved until her passing in 2012.
Jack owned a successful real estate business, Remington & Cochran Realtors, in Folsom, PA for many years until his retirement. He was a man of honor, integrity, humor and fun. Jack and Betty Lou lived a full life filled with loving family and many dear friends. They traveled the world and saw places they never dreamed they would see. Jack often said he was the luckiest man in the world to have lived the life he lived.

He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Smedley and her husband, Bill of Jersey Shore, PA; Cynthia Remington Marriott and her husband the Honorable Frank Marriott of Ormond Beach; grandchildren Mark Leese, Matthew Leese, Rebecca Leese, Katherine Remington Marriott, and Lindsay Paige Marriott. He was also blessed to be a great grandfather to Marissa Leese, Evan Leese, Erika Leese, Derek Leese, Jarrod Thompson, the late Isaac Thompson, and Izzy Leese. He is also survived by great grandchildren Logan Chase Hadley and Kylie Eve Sellers both of Ormond Beach as well as three sisters, Eleanor Gillespie, Barbara Laska and Joan Van Horn and many nieces and nephews. He was loved and adored by all of his family and friends.
