Philip T. Orlando Jr. 62 of Port Orange Fl and Pittsburgh Pa. died at his Port Orange home early Monday morning march 5 2012. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Orlando was born November 15 1949 in Youngstown Ohio a son of Philip T. and Genevieve Ciufo Orlando and lived in Hubbard before the family moved to Pittsburg. He was a graduate of North Hills high School and Allegheny County Community College and an Army Reserves Veteran. He worked at the A&P and other grocery stores in the Pittsburgh area and the U.S. Army Corps of engineers before his retirement and was an events bartender at the Harvard-Princeton-Yale club in Pittsburgh and other clubs. He was an avid motorcyclist Riding coast -to-coast several times and rode in 48 of the 50 states missing only Hawaii and Louisiana. He was a certified motorcycle safety instructor in Pennsylvania Ohio and Florida. He was an honorary member of the Blue knights and several other motorcycle groups. In Florida he was active in the "Citizen Observer program" of the Volusia County Sheriff's Department and was a " Volunteer in the Police Service" for Port Orange Police. He leaves his loving companion Patricia Kirby: a sister Cheryl Ann Mangan and brother-in-law Dennis B. of Warren Ohio and two nephews Brendan Mangan and wife Jordan of Watertown Mass. and Jonathan Mangan of Cleveland.
