Peter J. Vollenbroek, affectionately known as "Uncle Pete", died on February 15, 2014 at the age of 70. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 11:00am in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, with a gathering one hour prior to service.

Born March 20, 1943 in New York, he grew up primarily in the Bronx. Pete attended and graduated from Seabreeze High School. Subsequently, enlisting in the United States Army where he served proudly and received an honorable discharge. After his discharge, he owned and operated Servol Heating Service, Inc. serving the 5 boroughs in New York for more than 20 years. He retired from New York and moved to Florida in 1989 with his wife. He was known as Uncle Pete while he owned and operated Carmichael's Center Court, later known as Whiskey Pete's. The past 10 years, he donated his time towards abused children's funding, a cause for which he was very passionate. He loved animals along with bowling, fishing, reading and music.

Above all he cherished family and friends. Peter is survived by his wife of 51 years, Amalie "Penny", his son Timothy of New Jersey and daughter PennyLynn of Ormond Beach. He felt blessed with five granddaughters, Annie, Sarah, Lily, Ericka, and Nickole.
