RUMORE PETER J. ? Peter J. Rumore age 72 died Friday Dec. 31 2004 at the Arbors Ormond Beach. Peter was born on Sept. 26 1932 to Joseph and Lena Rumore both deceased in New York City NY. He moved to this area in 1988 from the San Francisco Bay area. Peter?s distinguished career began in 1961in NYC as a Special Agent for the Intelligence Division IRS. In 1971 he went to Nashville TN where he was Chief Intelligence Div.. In 1972 he became the Chief Criminal Investigation Div. in Buffalo NY. In 1978 he moved to San Francisco to become the Executive Asst. to the Asst. Regional Commissioner Criminal Investigation. His next position was Regional Inspector for the Western Region. Peter?s IRS career culminated as the Asst. Regional Commissioner Criminal Investigation Western Region. He retired from the IRS in 1986 and was a consultant for Legal Services Corp. Washington D.C. until 1994. Peter had a BBA degree in business administration from Pace University NYC and a MA in Public Administration from Syracuse University. He received a law degree from New York Law School and was admitted to practice before the NY bar.
Peter was a member of the Assoc. of Former Special Agents of the IRS and the Federal Bar Assoc.. Prior to his illness he was a member of Pelican Bay Country Club and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Peter was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was an avid reader and loved golf cooking wine gardening and going on cruises. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Lorraine Daytona Beach; daughter Susan ToddYoung Edina MN; son Michael Rumore Mpls. MN and grandsons Dylan and Trevor Young. The family will be receiving friends in the chapel of Lohman Ormond Funeral Home on Tuesday Jan. 4th from 2pm until 4pm and from 6pm until 8 pm with a prayer service at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at 8:30am Wed. Jan. 5th at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange FL.
