A Funeral Service for Peter C. Balassi 78 of Ormond Beach who passed away on Thursday November 9 2006 will be held at 10:00AM Monday November 13 2006 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 129 N. Halifax Ave Daytona Beach with Father Michael Byars of Holy Cross Eastern Orhodox Church officiating. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6PM with a 5PM Trisagion Service on Sunday November 12 2006 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. A native of Greece Mr. Balassi first came to Ormond Beach in 1983 from Sheboygan WI. He was a retired painter and a member of Holy Cross Eastern Orthodox Church. He loved gardening and fishing but most of all he loved his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Angeline of Ormond Beach; his son Christos of Manitowoc WI; his daughters Fofie Karas of Ormond Beach & Viola Sapountsis of New Port Richey; a brother George; his sisters: Katina Voula Nikki Popie & Rea; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
