"Pete" Joseph Bailey age 75 of Ormond Beach passed away after a short illness on Friday August 6 2010. Pete's special request is casual preferably Florida Gator attire be worn by the guest who will attend a 11:00 AM gathering followed by an 12:00 PM Funeral service in his honor on Tuesday August 10 2010 at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Daytona Memorial Park.
Pete was born in Orlando Florida to Arnold and Peggy Bailey he came to the Daytona Beach area as a young boy and attended Mainland High School class of '53 where he meet his high school sweetheart and future wife Evelyn "Boots" Whitehurst. He dedicated his talents to the printing industry for Bergman and Sons and Von Printers. Pete was a dedicated alumnus of Mainland and avid Gator fan he cherished many years of fellowshipping with his former classmates and following the University team. He was a charming humorous fun loving Irish gentleman who enjoyed playing golf traveling the world with his wife granddaughters and friends surviving natural disasters and spending time with his family. He was blessed to live a good life.
His parents and beloved pup "the black son" Oscar Boy preceded him in death and he leaves behind to cherish his memory his broken hearted wife Boots Bailey 2 daughters; Chanda (Steve) Johnson and Tracy (Al) Bailey 2 granddaughters; Amy (Bruce) Powers and Jamie Adcock 4 precious great-grandsons; Bruce Bransen Brendon and Broden Powers a sister Judy Cassata a nephew 6 nieces and numbers cherished friends.
