Obituary

Pelton Eugene Geter Sr. 86 of Palm Coast Florida passed away January 27 2013 at Florida Hospital Flagler. Visitation will be held on February 3 2013 from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast; funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm. Interment will be take place on Monday Feburary 4 2013 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Pelton was born in Virginia where he attended grade school and also raised in Washington DC before moving to Bronx NY where he graduated from Morris H.S. Pelton proudly served in the United States Army; upon discharge he was employed as an auto mechanic. He continued to excell as an X-Ray Technician then gracefully retired from working for Kings County Hospital NY and various other Medical Facilities. During his employment he attended Hostos Community College where he proudly earned his Associate Degree as a Medical Technician. In 1989 he moved with his wife Anna to Palm Coast Florida. He loved spending his time restoring cars and rebuilding their engines. He had a passion for photography and enjoyed hunting fishing reading automotive books and reciting his favorite scripture(s) where he attended grade school. He will be lovingly remembered for his love for family and friends. Pelton was preceded in death by his mother Vergie Hunter-Geter and his brother Furnell Geter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Anna Geter of Palm Coast; son Pelton Geter Jr. of Long Island NY; daughters Norina Geter of Long Island; NY; Debra Geter-Kirkland of South Carolina; brother David Geter ( Louise) of Washington DC. Pelton was also the loving grandpop to his nine grandchildren Crystal Michelle Alicia Brian Jonathan Earl II Shayna Gina Keri and five great grandchildren Michael Jr. Isiah Brian Jr. Kamen and Brianna. Donations in Pelton's name may be made to a charity of your choice and/or to the family. All arrangements are under the careful directions of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
