Paul Witter finally "Let go and Let God" take him on April 27, 2015. He exemplified the strength, truthfulness and courage that all me of his generation have. A Memorial service for Paul will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday May 13, 2015 with a gathering from the hours of 11 am till 12 PM . Service followed with inurnment at Daytona Memorial Park.

Mr. Witter was born on July 30, 1928 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from John Harris High School in June of 1946. From June 1946-January 1947, he worked in the classified advertising department at Patriot & Evening News. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January of 1947, graduating from non-com officer training and became a platoon sergeant - basic training sergeant. In October 1947 he was stationed at Ft. Jackson SC, earning his honorable discharge in July 1948. He immediately went to work at Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot starting out as a GS-2 clerk typist.

In August of 1950 he married his dear wife, Jane Gardner and after returning from their honeymoon he was told to report for active duty. In September 1950 he served as personnel assistant at Fort Lee, VA. He was released (again) from the Army in February 1951. He returned to Mechanicsburg, PA and was hired as a GS-7 Inventory Management Specialist, rising to a GS-11. In July 1966 he was transferred to Washington, DC and worked as a branch head GS-14 at the Naval Air System Command Inventory Management Division, until his retirement in July 1983. In August of 1989, they made the move to Florida. In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by son Harry ( Pam), Port Orange, FL; son William ( Debbie), Tampa, FL; daughter Suellen (Mike) Lepole, Holly Hill, FL; and son Paul (Ani), Los Angeles, CA, along with Five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family would like to excepted extreme gratitude to the staff at Halifax Health Hospice, for their compassion and devotion to our husband and father, especially the nurse Paul loved - Mary Ellen. This organization helped Paul's son William and his family with grocery donations during their daughter's fight with leukemia.
