Paul John West, age 69 of Port Orange, passed away after a courageous battle in Daytona Beach on Monday June 9, 2008. A service in his honor will be held Sunday June 15 2008; 10:00 AM at the Daytona Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, June 14, from 2-4 and 6-8.

Mr. West was born and raised in Utica NY He graduated form Spartan School of Aeronautics and was a member of the US Civil Air Patrol. Paul dedicated his life as an entrepreneur devoting his talents to many different ventures most with focus on his mechanical building and leadership talents. He traveled in many circles and to various places to discover all the world has to offer He enjoyed bowling and loved to fish. Paul was a member of a rare breed: brilliant creative unpretentious with a unexpected wit and driven by a desire for worthwhile achievement.

He leaves behind to cherish his wife of 47 years, Mary West; his daughter, Kirsten and husband Dan Campbell; 3 grandchildren, Angel, Aurora, and Justin; a sister, Pat and husband Ron Thibodeau; 2 nieces, Diana and Lanette; and a great deal of friends. Flowers are welcome but memorials may be sent in his name to the American Diabetes Association.
