Paul Ellwood Titcomb
(December 27 1920 - September 12 2011)
Paul E. Titcomb 90 of Rockford Illinois passed away on Monday September 12 2011. He was born on December 27 1920 in Brewer Maine the son of Ora and Beatrice (Davis) Titcomb. He married Jennie E. Jorg on September 26 1942. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II on the Battleship Wisconsin Paul was a government postal worker for over 30 years in Washington D.C. and suburban Maryland. After retirement he lived in Port Orange Florida until he moved to Rockford Illinois in 2004 residing at Wesley Willows retirement home.
Paul was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ using his talents to serve the churches where he lived. He last attended Hope EFC in Roscoe Illinois. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pride in them. Paul also had a lifelong interest in airplanes and automobiles and thoroughly enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical.
Survivors are son Edward P. (Mary Alice) of Roscoe Illinois; daughter Beverly A. (Lane) Smith of North Las Vegas Nevada; grandchildren Steven Smith Benjamin Smith Tamara (Titcomb) Marson and Jonathan Titcomb; great grandchildren Lenita Marson Daniel Titcomb and Timothy Marson; sister Barbara L. Hackett of Valrico Florida. He is predeceased by his wife and two grandsons Scott Smith and Timothy Titcomb.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Evangelical Free Church 5656 Elevator Road Roscoe Illinois at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 24. The graveside service will be at Daytona Memorial Park 1425 Bellevue Avenue Dayton Beach Florida at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 1.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to one of the following organizations.
