Paul James Rock 74 of Ormond by the Sea Fl was called to be with the Lord on July 26th 2007. At the time of his passing he was embraced in love surrounded by his wife and five children at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh on September 30th 1932. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and Triangle School of Drafting. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1954 where he was a training instructor at the 1st Combat Training Battalion The Army School at Ft. Knox Ky. He worked in the engineering field specializing in Structural and Piping Design. In 1988 he was ordained a Deacon in the Diocese of Charleston SC by Bishop David B. Thompson. He enjoyed serving others in need through Christian ministry teaching parental baptism classes adult bible studies and attending to the needs of the sick. He was dearly loved by many and will be missed by all of those he touched through his life. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Amelia Ann Rock his brother Richard Rock of Edgewater Fl his sister Patty Quering of Pittsburgh Pa. his five children Cindy King Paul Rock Melanie Newhouse Bill Rock all of Greenville SC Tim Rock of Wilbur by the Sea Fl and 11 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held in his honor at St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church Ormond Beach FL on Saturday July 28th at 10:00 a.m. A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Greenville SC.
