Mr. Paul L Resnik age 63 passed quietly with his family at his side on May 27 2012. He was preceded by his parents Mae & Julian Resnik & Sister Sharon Resnik of New Haven CT.
He is survived by his beloved wife Susan of Orange City Fl; daughter Rebecca Ann of Naples Fl and son Joseph Henry Louis of Jacksonville Fl. His father in law Mr. Henry Archacki of Farmington CT; His In laws: Elaine & Brad Magrey of Southington CT; Nancy & William Jones of Plantsville CT; Melissa Roback of San Francisco CA. and Michael & Mae Archacki of New Hartford CT. His nieces & nephews: Erica & Collin Cunningham; Aaron & Jessica Magrey; Victoria Devon Alexander & Samantha Jones; Emily & Mae Archacki. His first cousins: Robert & Kathy Shankman of New Jersey; Murielle Smith of New York & Judith and Stewart Epstein of West Palm Beach Fl.
Paul was employed by the Symantec Corporation for the past 16 years. He was a Senior Multimedia Producer of educational training programs for the company. Previous to his career in the Computer Software Industry Paul was in Radio Broad casting for 26 years. He attended Graham Junior College in Boston Mass for Communication & Broadcasting in the late 1960's. Paul was one of those outrageous characters from Radios Days of Top 40 & Rock & Roll Radio.
Paul's Radio days spanned from 1969-1995. He spent multiple years in the Northeast working for stations in Connecticut WKCI WPLR and WAVZ & Rhode Island's WMEE in the early days. In the late 1970's Paul was known as ""Cash Sunshine"" at the old Q105/WRBQ in Tampa. He was also on the air at WQXM in Clearwater & WSDO in Miami Fl. His second go around in the CT market he was the Morning Air Personality at WHCN in Hartford Ct from 1980-1983. It was the Outrageous ""Eddie Haskell & the Horn"" morning show with his news man Gary Lee Horn at his side. He was the program Director & Drive time on Air Personality at WPLR in New Haven. He also opened & ran a branch of Connecticut School of Broadcasting for Dick Robinson back in the mid 1980's. Paul's last On Air position brought him & his family back to the Orlando Florida area where he was one of the Original On Air Personalities at WMMO from 1989-1995.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to the Stewart Marchman ACT Foundation in Daytona Beach Florida or the American Lung Association.
The Lohman Funeral Home at 935 New York Ave Deland Florida is in charge of funeral arrangements. Viewing is on Wednesday May 30 2012 from 5 pm -7 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday May 31 2012 with a luncheon reception to follow the service.
