Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial for Paul A Merola 83 of Ormond Beach FL who passed away Monday May 21 2007 with his loving family at his side will be held Friday May 25 2007 at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Ormond Beach at 10:00 AM with Father John Ryan Pastor officiating. His family is inviting friends to attend visitation at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach on Thursday from 3 PM until 6 PM. He is survived by his wife Jean 3 sons Paul N. and his wife Andrea Wallingford CT Dominic W. and his wife Robin Meriden CT Martin S. and his partner Ann Landry Wallingford CT a daughter Marcia J. and her husband James Corideo Ormond Beach Grandchildren Jimmy Anthony Kyle Corideo Shannon Imme and her husband Michael Nicole Paul Gregory Jason Merola and partner Kristina Hansen Carissa Zachary Evan Merola of Wallingford CT great grandchildren Tyrin Williams and Joshua Merola 2 Brothers Leonard and his wife Eleanor Merola Gaetano (Guy) and his wife Peggy a sister Lucy Heath and her husband George and brother in law Stanley Kupidlowski. He was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Maria (Monaco) Merola 2 brothers Nicholas Blair 2 sisters Antoinette and Matrona (Em). Paul was born in Hamden CT on December 20 1923 and lived most of his life in Wallingford and Ormond Beach Florida in later years. He served in The US Army as a rank of Sergeant in the 103rd Airborne Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge during WW II. He married Jean Kupidlowski of New Haven CT February 7 1948 and raised their family in Wallingford. He retired as a Sheet Metal Model Maker from The Charles Parker Company in 1985 after 24 years. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making and was known for his clock building skills also he enjoyed antique cars and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his families in both Connecticut and Florida. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
