Paul David Herndon Sr. age 54 of Daytona Beach was called home by our Lord on Friday September 18 2009. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday October 17 2009; 4:00 PM at The International Miracle Center on the corner of 5th Street and Wild Olive (beachside) in Daytona Beach all are welcome.
Paul was born in Welch W. Virginia to Kenneth and Ruby Herndon he dedicated his life as a servant to our Lord. In Cleveland Tennessee he attended Lee University and became a minister. He served as Senior Pastor for the Church of God in Salem Chapmanville Walkertown and Stone Branch all in W. Virginia before moving to Florida. Once in Florida he was the Sr. Pastor Principal and teacher of the Crescent City Church of God and School the Associate Min. of Holly Hill Church of God host of a Christian radio show called "Word Seekers" on WAPN 91.5 FM and a present member of IMC's Relevant Church where he was in a position of leadership. He also preached and taught at the Daytona Outreach Center and served on the Board of Directors there as well. He was an avid reader collector and sports fan. He enjoyed history going to auctions and rooting on the Gators Yankees and Giants.
His father Kenneth Paul Herndon (1966) and mother in law Veronica (Irish) Ulrichs (2007) preceded him in death. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of six years Barbara Jean Herndon his mother Ruby Mae Jenkins and step father Howard Jenkins a daughter Kelly Herndon a son Paul David Herndon Jr. 2 grandchildren Christian (11) and Jasmine(2) Herndon a sister Patricia Ann Herndon her children; Kassandra and Kandice Combs Step siblings; Judy (Ken) Whitlow Daniel (Rebecca) Robert (Pauline) Howard (Gail) Lee (Daisy) Thomas (Carrie) and Jack (Evelyn) Jenkins 3 aunts Dorothy Salyers Juanita (Vinton) Marshall and Edith Calhoun brothers-in-law; Martin (Susan) Dietrich Michael (Laurel) Ulrichs Sisters- in- law: Patricia Dietrich Cathy (Michael) Feeney Lynne (Tony) Catapano his devoted poodle; Beau many: aunts uncles cousins nieces nephews and his beloved church family.
