CANTIN Paul William 69 of Port Orange FL the husband of Ruth (Martin) Cantin died at his home on Thursday September 5 2013. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday September 10 2013 at 3:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1201 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange FL 32127. Born in Hartford CT July 5 1944 he was the youngest son of the late Raoul and Aurora (Gagne) Cantin. Paul is a U.S. Army Veteran having proudly served his country from 1962 to 1966. At age 19 he was accepted into flight school and became the youngest pilot in the U.S. Army. He served as Chief Warrant Officer with the 173rdBrigade as a UH-1D helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1966 and was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Paul continued his aviation career as a pilot with Delta Airlines from which he retired as Captain after 34 years of service in 2003. Paul enjoyed his retirement traveling with his wife Ruth playing golf and playing blues harmonica. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Amy Cantin-Kaye and her husband Steven Kaye of Hopkinton MA and his son Joel Cantin and his wife Susan of Fishers IN; his grandchildren Jessica and Thomas Cantin and Lex and Margot Kaye as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his six brothers; Norman Raymond Gerald Maurice and Richard Cantin Leo Guerard and his two sisters Murielle Adams and Cecile Grout.
