Patrick L. Flannery of Port Orange, Florida died peacefully on Saturday, July 22, surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born on July 16, 1936, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In his early years, Patrick enjoyed summers with his extended family at their campsite, Hemlock Acres. He graduated from South Hills High School in 1954 and earned a BS in 1958 and a MS in 1960 from Carnegie Tech.
It was at Carnegie Tech where he met his loving wife of over 50 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Roper. Patrick was a pioneer in business and analytics, becoming executive vice president of a start-up market research company and later president of a competing company. In his retirement, he pursued his passion for art. He was an avid painter and active in the Daytona Beach Art League and the Beaux Arts of Central Florida. He loved old movies, sharing jokes, and playing and singing songs on the piano and guitar.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie, his father James, his mother Catherine, his brothers Bill and Jack, and his sister Virginia. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen (Jeff), grandchildren (Sasha & Henry) Zupanc, daughter Jennifer (Geoff) Suiters, son Patrick (Lynn) Flannery, and his companion Ann Marie Turner.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Lohman's Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida. A church service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange, Florida. Patrick will be laid to rest and interred with his wife Bobbie during a graveside ceremony on August 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
