Patricia Marie Smith received her angel wings on July 25, 2016 at the Halifax Hospice Care Center of Port Orange, Florida. Pat, the daughter of the late Queen and Tom Luther, was born in Daytona Beach on February 28, 1939. Delbert Smith, her beloved husband of 37 years, passed away on her birthday in 2008. She was also preceded in death by Debbie Bailey, her daughter-in-law and Daniel Murphy, her brother.

Pat is survived by her son, Tom Bailey, grandchildren, Kala, David (Andrea) and Greg Bailey, great-granddaughters, Jaeda (her mother Connie Bittner) and Mashaela Bailey; son, Dale Smith; daughter, Nancy Jontes-Lee (Ken), grandsons, Robert (Bob Alby-Jontes) and Scott Jontes (Katie), great-grandchildren, Hannah, Bobby, Josh, Cole and Colin Jontes; son, David Smith (Rita), grandsons, Joel Stone and Ty Smith and Dennis Smith (Darlin), grandsons, Nathan and Justin Smith; Sister-in-laws, Gerry Murphy, Virginia Stephens, Irene Burnham and Evelyn Baker (Harold). She is also survived by long time family friend, Anna Briggs. Pat was blessed with the friendship of Betty Budgen Carter that began in the third grade and continued through graduation at Seabreeze High School, jobs, marriages, children, medical issues and all the joys and sorrows of a lifetime friendship. Pat was a resident of Countryside Assisted Living Facility in Port Orange and endeared herself to the other residents, staff and caregivers with her beautiful smile and attitude. Pat became friends with fellow resident Joan Schaller and the family wishes to acknowledge Joan's ability to comfort and inspire Pat as the pain of Rheumatoid arthritis took away Pat's mobility. Holidays throughout the year were great fun for Pat and she enjoyed having people visit her apartment to admire her decorations especially at Christmas.

Many years ago Pat became friends with Diane Jiles and they enjoyed going to the beach, traveling and spending time together. Diane was always available to stay with Pat through her medical procedures and lengthy recoveries. Pat retired after 30 years as a unit coordinator at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach and from her many friends there she collected dessert recipes that she enjoyed making for her family. The holidays won't be the same without Pat serving her sweet potato and pecan casserole that was always served in the same dish every year. For many years Pat prepared a breakfast casserole that became a family favorite especially on Christmas morning. She and Delbert loved to travel and visited Europe, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and especially enjoyed cruising the Caribbean. Pat lived her life for her family, her friends and her church. She was a founding member of the Port Orange Church of Christ. Pat Smith touched many people in her life and she will be cherished and missed by her family and many friends. She will be remembered most of all as a beautiful lady who put others before herself and lived life believing that her faith in God would some day give her relief from her pain and that in Heaven, God will grant her Life Everlasting. A Visitation will be held from 3:00pm til 3:30pm on Monday August 1, 2016 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:30pm on Monday August 1, 2016 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Burial will immediately follow in Daytona Memorial Park.
