Patricia "Pat" Toone passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 after a long struggle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
She was born to Robert T. and Anna Myers on November 8, 1933 in Daytona Beach, FL. Pat attended St. Paul's Catholic School in Daytona Beach, graduating as valedictorian in 1951. She worked for 17 years in various capacities for Southern Bell, during which time she met the love of her life John H. Toone. They married at St. Paul's Catholic Church on February 4, 1967. She left Southern Bell in 1968 to become a full time homemaker and mother upon the birth of their son Michael in 1969.
The family moved to LaPlace, LA in 1979 where they spent 10 years, eventually returning to Ormond Beach in 1989. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching nearly all sports, and was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Pat is predeceased by her brother Richard. She is survived by her loving husband John, her son Michael (Kim), and her granddaughter Sarah.
Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, FL on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Funeral Mass will begin at 12pm with an hour visitation preceding the Mass at 11am. The family would like to express their sincere regards and appreciation for the hospice care provided by the staff at Florida Hospital Hospice Care at home and, in her final days, at their inpatient facility.
